LINGUISTIC CHARACTER OF THE CONCEPT «WOMAN» IN THE TRIAD «LANGUAGE-CULTURE-SOCIETY» (ON THE EXAMPLE OF KAZAKH/ENGLISH PAREMIOLOGICAL UNITS)

Abstract

The article is devoted to phraseological units and proverbs that reveal the images of «kyz-kelin-ana» related to the concept of «woman». The purpose of the article is a linguistic and cultural consideration of the semantic structure of phraseological units in relation to the concept of «woman». The national and cultural specificity of the perception of the image of the world by the Kazakh people originates from the concept of «woman». The relevance of the article lies in the semantic-structural, ethnolinguistic, cognitive study of phraseological expressions that reveal the image of a «woman» in linguistics. The national character of the general concept of «woman», fixed in phraseological fragments of the picture of the world of the Kazakh people, is described in the triad «Language-Culture-Society», and its significance and feature are determined. The article uses phrases forming the concept of «woman» depending on the age, place, and social role of a woman in society in Kazakh and English. The linguistic picture of a woman originates in the image of «kyz» in the Kazakh worldview. Therefore, the stages of the evolutionary development of the word «kyz» within the framework of the stage «kyz-kelin-ana» proverbs are given in Kazakh and English. They are taken from the works published at the end of the 20th and the beginning of the 21st century, compared with each other, reveal the linguistic picture of the image of «kyz-kelin-ana», and summarize the article. Semantic similarities and differences of phraseological units and proverbs in two languages, the degree of kinship of which is far, completely different in origin, are systematized on the basis of the comparative method.
