БАЙБАТЫР ЕРЖАНҰЛЫНЫҢ ПУБЛИЦИСТИКАЛЫҚ МАҚАЛАЛАРЫНДАҒЫ АҒАРТУШЫЛЫҚ ҰСТАНЫМ

Abstract

 The article is devoted to the Enlightenment principles in the journalistic articles of Baibatyr Erzhanuly, a prominent representative of the Kazakh intelligentsia in the early 20th century. The relevance of this work lies in the fact that, due to the socio-political situation in the country and the historical context, the Kazakh intelligentsia strived to ensure that the people became literate, educated, and capable of reaching an advanced level of development. Therefore, the promotion of the poet’s legacy is considered important.

The aim of the article is to identify Baibatyr Erzhanuly’s ideological and creative positions on the path to national self-awareness and spiritual revival through an analysis of his literary and public activities. The Enlightenment position in his journalistic works is understood as the poet’s role in promoting the national idea through the study of his literary and journalistic legacy within the context of the literary development associated with the rise of the national autonomy movement "Alash."

To achieve this goal, the poet’s published books, collections of articles, as well as archival manuscripts and letters were collected and thoroughly analyzed. Introducing the legacy of such significant but forgotten figures as Baibatyr Erzhanuly into academic discourse is one of the primary tasks of this research.

In the course of the study, methods of comparative analysis and interpretation were employed, allowing for an assessment of the value and artistic uniqueness of his works. An important part of the research also involved comparison with the works of M. Dulatov and Ä. Arghynov, who likewise contributed to the awakening of the spiritual consciousness of the people during that historical period.
