Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of thanatopoetics, the most important section of artistic thanatology and the consideration of the role of the term in world literature, the trend of penetration into Kazakh literature. In addition, the emphasis is on the concepts of existentialism, thanatological motive. Reviewing the works of scientists who have contributed to the study of thanatology (A.Hansen-Levet, R.L.Krasilnikov, M.Bakhtin, G.Baltabayeva, and others), the relevance of the topic of death in Kazakh literature is confirmed.

The purpose of this study is to study and describe the artistic role of thanatology in the prose of Mukhtar Magauin, to differentiate the scope of the category of death in his works. The thanatological motifs in the writer's works, taken as the main object of the article, are considered not only at the level of an ideological, thematic, pictorial means of a literary text, but also its function as a plot-forming element is investigated, the connection with the term chronotope and narrative features in the works are revealed. In addition, the article provides an overview of the mythical plots and archetypes that formed the basis of the writer's works, provides an in-depth analysis of the place of mythological images in the work, thanatopoetics in the writer's works.  

The article will also examine the contribution of M.Magauin to the expansion of the boundaries of modern Kazakh prose.
