This article examines the application of precedent texts in teaching the Russian language. Precedent texts are stable expressions, quotes, aphorisms, names, and literary and cultural realities that are well-known to a significant part of society and possess high associative value. Their use in Russian language lessons contributes not only to the development of language competence but also to the formation of students' cultural awareness, broadening their horizons and stimulating interest in the subject being studied.
The authors emphasize the importance of selecting relevant and understandable precedent units, taking into account students' proficiency levels, age, and sociocultural characteristics. The article also provides examples of methodological techniques for working with precedent texts. Thus, the use of precedent texts is an effective tool in teaching Russian as a foreign language, as it allows not only for language instruction but also for immersing students in a broad cultural tradition, fostering associative thinking and a deep understanding of the text.
