ҚАЗАҚ, АҒЫЛШЫН ТІЛДЕРІНДЕГІ ПАРЕМИОЛОГИЯЛЫҚ БІРЛІКТЕРДІҢ МӘДЕНИ ЕРЕКШЕЛІКТЕРІ

Abstract

Paremiological units are a cultural heritage that has been passed down from generation to generation. Proverbs and sayings reflect a nation’s worldview, its way of life, traditions, and customs. Although proverbs and sayings have been studied for many years, they remain a valuable subject of study, continuously offering new insights.  This article examines the cultural features of proverbs and sayings in Kazakh and English. The similarities and differences between Kazakh and English proverbs in cultural contexts were identified through the analysis of scientific sources and the comparison of paremiological units. The study attempted to compare the cultural values, cognitive, and social aspects of Kazakh and English paremiological units. Since both Kazakh and English languages are rich in cultural values and cover a wide range of topics, the classification of cultural themes in Kazakh proverbs is based on Qaidar’s categorization, while English paremiology themes are analyzed using Mieder’s classification. Furthermore, recommendations for further research on this topic are provided.
