Abstract

The idea of independence has always held a significant place in the historical consciousness of the Kazakh people, as it is closely intertwined with national identity and the aspiration for freedom. The history of the Kazakh people is a chronicle of a prolonged struggle against colonization, external pressures, and for the preservation of national sovereignty. This idea was shaped by historical events and has been preserved as a key value in the spiritual worldview of the nation.

The article examines the role of the idea of independence in the historical consciousness of the Kazakh people and its significance in national spirituality, political, and cultural life. Through the creative works and public activities of the Alash movement’s leaders, the article analyzes the pathways of forming the idea of independence and its role in awakening national consciousness. The political and cultural legacy of Alash leaders is studied in the context of their contribution to the nation’s striving for freedom. Additionally, the article discusses the contemporary applications of Alash ideas in relation to the relevance of independence for modern Kazakh society.

The research identifies the cultural, political, and spiritual foundations of the pursuit of independence based on literary and historical heritage. In the modern era, there is a growing need to systematize literary, historical, and cultural studies on the contribution of Alash writers to independence and to reinterpret their legacy with new perspectives. This approach opens opportunities not only for the comprehensive understanding of national spiritual wealth but also for grasping the historical foundations of the idea of independence and conveying it to future generations.
