LANGUAGE FEATURE OF AZ-ZAMAKHSHARI’S WORK «MUQADDIMAT AL-ADAB»

Abstract

In this article, the vocabulary of az-Zamakhshari’s work «Mukaddimat Al-Adab» was studied, the way of life, relations, socio-economic development, culture of the nomadic people, which is a reflection of that period. Not only the vocabulary, but also the grammatical feature of the language were discussed. Words related to life, nature, economy, public affairs, etc.were grouped. The connection of these words with the Kazakh language has been established. The vocabulary of

«Muqaddimat Al-Adab» is made up of generalized lexemes. It was concluded that the main part of the Turkic materials in the dictionary consists of common words denoting the kinship of the Turkic languages, with the exception of borrowed words from the Arabic–Persian, Mongolian languages. Therefore, the specific importance of lexical analysis of dictionaries was considered. Through the study of the semantics of words in «Mukaddimat», it was possible to obtain comprehensive information on a large scale, from the etymology of our language. The dictionary materials were compared with the Kazakh language and other written sources. As a result, differences in the literal and figurative meaning of some words were revealed.

Through the linguistic study of the dictionary, the etymology of the Kazakh language has been supplemented.
