THE EXPRESSION OF THE CONCEPT OF «PEOPLE» IN PROVERBS AND SAYINGS IN KAZAKH, ENGLISH

The article analyzes the expression of the concept of «people» in proverbs and sayings in Kazakh and English. The worldview and spiritual values of the two peoples are considered in comparison with how they are represented in proverbs and sayings. The research defines the role of the concept of «people» as a collective unity, justice, spiritual strength and cultural heritage. Kazakh proverbs glorify the collective consciousness, the common values of the people, English proverbs are based on the relationship between personality and society. The research used the approaches of comparative analysis, descriptive method, contextual analysis, and ethnolinguistic analysis. Kazakh and English proverbs analyzed the unity of the people, the attitude to power, the principles of justice and labor. As a result, significant differences between proverbs and sayings are revealed, due to the historical and cultural characteristics of the two peoples.
The research results can serve as a practical basis for intercultural research, language teaching methods, ethnolinguistics, and sociology. This study is aimed at identifying the linguistic and cultural features of the concept of «people» in the paremiological fund of the Kazakh and English languages, revealing their structural, semantic and pragmatic characteristics.
