Abstract

The study and comparison of spiritual harmonies and common motifs in the works of great writers who lived in different periods, wrote amazing works in different countries, in different languages, allows us to draw several new conclusions in literary studies.

In this article, comparing Abai and Goethe's poems about the butterfly, a new conclusion was made based on a comparative analysis of common features, their similarities and differences in the works of the two poets.

Although the image of a butterfly was taken as a common theme for both poets, it was largely considered conditionally in an artistic and aesthetic sense and somewhat went beyond the already established discursive relations.Other criteria have also been applied to the question of time-spatial concepts (chronotope) in works. The reason is that, although at first it would seem illogical to combine the individual personalities of the poets into one channel and distinguish their original styles from each other, the end result shows that this approach also allows us to come to a clear and thorough conclusion.

During the analysis of the text, Goethe's voluminous work, translated into Kazakh for the first time, was used as a research material, while priority was given to the author's interpretation.
