The paper deals with the substantive, ideological connection of universal values in hikmets (wisdoms) of a major representative of ancient Turkic written literature Khoja Ahmed Yasawi and the works of Abay Kunanbayev. Everything that is created, as Academician Z. Kabdolov said, is ‘The main object of literature - the human being’, serves the Creator’s favourite servants - the people. To overcome the flaw of a person filled with such love is the struggle and travail of a lifetime. Consequently, through the vicissitudes of a man, life goes on, changes... But in order for a person living among these changes and phenomena not to lose his humanity and goodness, it will be right if he himself sows a grain of goodness in his heart, cultivates and waters it with water. These qualities are established in the spiritual heritage as the universal eternal principles. The paper studies how ‘Divani Hikmet’ from such a category of spiritual heritage embodies the ideals of virtue and continues this idea in Abay’s works. The statements that Abay’s concept of ‘Integral Man’ is related to human virtues can be judged by textual comparisons and analysis. Moreover, ‘the idea - Yasawi’s Hikmet and Abay’s heritage are valuable as an example of virtuous ideals’ is justified by the references to the conclusions of scientific works.
