Linguistics like other scientific disciplines, is undergoing rapid development, enriched with new discoveries and facts. Linguistic research covering various areas of language functioning contributes to the expansion and replenishment of the terminological apparatus used in the analysis and synthesis of linguistic phenomena.
The accumulated knowledge and information resources are constantly growing and require constant exchange of information at the international level. This article discusses the main periods of the introduction of terms into the Kazakh language, the features of their active use and functioning, principles and ways of ordering. The existing methods, methods and practice of modern terminology creation are analyzed. Special attention is paid to the process of the emergence of new words in the Kazakh language during the period of Independence, examples of neologisms and ways of their occurrence are given. The issues of the formation of new terms in the Kazakh language are widely discussed, and the available research in this area is analyzed. Key points of the article: historical periods of the introduction of terms into the Kazakh language; pre-Soviet period: the use of terms from Arabic, Persian and Turkic languages; Soviet period; the influence of the Russian language, the use of international terms; post-Soviet period; active term creation, borrowing terms from various languages.
