This article examines the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and data visualisation methods to study the evolution of the short story genre in Kazakh literature. The short story genre, which plays a significant role in the Kazakh literary tradition, reflects the social and cultural changes that have taken place in Kazakhstan. The application of AI tools for text analysis, combined with data visualisation via Power BI, has the potential to significantly expand the possibilities of traditional literary analysis. That will, however, reveal hidden patterns and trends in the development of the genre, concerning changes in themes, motifs and images characteristic of the Kazakh short story over the course of its development in Kazakh literature.
The application of SQL tools for data structuring, Power BI tools for data visualisation and AI algorithms for thematic and stylistic analysis of texts could provide a deeper understanding of key themes, motifs and images characteristic of Kazakh literature. The article pays particular attention to the potential challenges associated with the application of AI in humanities research, including issues of algorithm bias, data accuracy, and ethical aspects of digital applications. Data visualisation through Power BI contributes to clearer presentation of the results of the analysis, making them accessible to a wide audience and facilitating interpretation. Comparing the results obtained through the application of AI with traditional literary methods will help to identify new interpretations and hypotheses, enriching existing knowledge about Kazakh literature. It concludes with a discussion of the prospects for further application of AI and digital technologies in Kazakh literary studies, emphasising their importance for the development of the humanities and Kazakhstan's research potential. The article contributes to accelerating the integration of AI into literary studies and suggests new approaches to the study of Kazakhstan's literary heritage.
