The study of loanwords in business terminology is a relevant issue today. The internationalisation and globalisation of the business sector have led to the adoption of many English terms in other languages, including Kazakh. Researching the characteristics of loanwords in English business terminology is one of the important areas of linguistics. Through such research, it is possible to identify the origins of terms used in economic and business communication, their pathways into the Kazakh language, and their usage features.
In English business terminology, loanwords are widely used in market relations, finance, management, and technology. Typically, these words are concise and straightforward, allowing for accurate communication. For example, words like "outsourcing," "benchmarking," and "brainstorming" have become internationally recognized and understood concepts. By examining the incorporation of English business terminology into Kazakh, one can observe how these words are assimilated, acquire new meanings, and how prevalent they are in the modern business environment. Such research helps develop the Kazakh language's terminological corpus and establish a national foundation for business language.
The article aims to identify the reasons for the emergence of loanwords, their place in the language, and their impact on business communication. In writing the article, linguistic, lexical-semantic analysis, comparative-historical methods, and survey methods were extensively used.
In transliteration, English words are accepted as they are or with altered spelling, but their meaning is retained. For example, marketing, management, and office. In the calque method, words are translated in accordance with their meaning in English, such as "human resources” and “added value”. Loanwords facilitate the creation of standardised terminology at the international level, enabling representatives of different cultures to understand each other better. Additionally, these terms reflect a company's internal corporate culture, distinguishing it from the external environment.
However, the excessive use of loanwords can sometimes lead to linguistic assimilation and the erosion of cultural distinctions.
