Abstract

The article examines the type of human character in Abai's «The Book of Words» on the basis of the comparative method by the thesaurus approach. Abai's works are an indisputable treasury of Kazakh literature. However, sometimes a modern reader may experience certain difficulties in comprehending and understanding Abai's deep thoughts.  Yes, indeed, sometimes the language of Abai is complicated and incomprehensible. Perhaps it is no coincidence that Akhmet Baitursynuly emphasized the need for a more careful reading of the works of the Kazakh classic, studying his worldview. To do this, first of all, it is necessary to understand the main core of Abai's creativity, the features of his poetics.

In connection with the above, we consider it necessary to thoroughly study the thesaurus of Abai's «The Book of Words», since it is the thesaurus that is the most vivid reflection of the artist's lexical system. Therefore, the authors of the article consistently considered synonymic, antonymic, hyponymic and other linguistic features of the text. The article uses both theoretical and practical ways of analysis. During the thesaurus analysis of Abai's «The Book of Words», various aspects of a person's character are revealed, which allows us to speak primarily about the diversity of the artist's talent.
