Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the artistic representation of national character in modern Kazakh poetry. Kazakh poetry of the independence period is distinguished by its broad thematic range and a wealth of new artistic requirements. The purpose of the study is to analyze the poetics and symbolism of national character in modern Kazakh poetry. To achieve this goal, the works of prominent representatives of modern Kazakh poetry were analyzed, and their system of symbols was categorized. During the study, the themes of historical memory, national identity, and the idea of nationhood were considered as phenomena that define the aesthetic and artistic nature of national character in poetry.

National character in contemporary Kazakh poetry is a reflection of not only the events preserved in historical memory but also the people's centuries-old pursuit of freedom. The article employs interpretative and structural analysis methods to identify manifestations of national character in modern Kazakh poetry. A specialized examination of the theme of character in national poetry systematizes symbolic and poetic categories and defines the development trends of contemporary Kazakh prose. Accordingly, the national character in contemporary Kazakh poetry is analyzed within the framework of historical memory, freedom, and national identity.

The significance of the research lies in identifying the connection between national character and historicity in modern Kazakh poetry and its re-evaluation in the post-Soviet era. The results of the study enable the analysis of the manifestations of national character in modern Kazakh poetry as a phenomenon, and allow for its understanding from artistic and aesthetic perspectives within contemporary Kazakh literature.
