Annotation. This article examines the formation and development of cognitive terminology in Kazakh linguistics. The study analyzes the transition from the traditional nominative understanding of the term to a cognitive approach, where the term is considered a tool for organizing scientific knowledge and modeling concepts. It is substantiated that the meaning of a term is formed not in dictionary definitions, but within scientific discourse and text. The research applies analytical methods, as well as integrated approaches based on cognitive and discourse analysis. The systemic, frame-based and categorical characteristics of terms are examined, proving their cognitive nature. It is established that the term is a dynamic phenomenon whose meaning depends on scientific models and discourse. The results contribute to the development of cognitive terminology theory.
