Abstract

In a study focused on issues such as the use and function of details in mystical narratives, the authors pay special attention to the types of details employed. In particular, they aim to identify and differentiate the role of sound (acoustic) details in creating a mystical background and atmosphere through textual analysis. The significance of acoustic details is examined in terms of their contribution to resolving tension within mystical works and conveying the psychological state of the character, including their phobias (fear, horror). Based on a detailed analysis of scientific research dedicated to this type of detail, the impact of sound on the human body and nervous system is demonstrated from a scientific perspective.

Taking into account that Hans Jenny, Hans Kayser, Don Campbell, Manners, and Richard Leviton have shown the positive influence of the voice on the human inner world, thinking process, and overall health, the authors are among the first to analyze the role of voice as a detail in mysticism. As a result, the function of sound detail within the mystical context is clarified.
