ОСОБЕННОСТИ ПЕРЕВОДА СТИЛИСТИЧЕСКИХ СРЕДСТВ В ХУДОЖЕСТВЕННОМ ПРОИЗВЕДЕНИИ (НА МАТЕРИАЛЕ ПОВЕСТИ ДЖЕКА ЛОНДОНА «БЕЛЫЙ КЛЫК»)

Abstract

This article analyzed the peculiarities of translation of stylistic means from the English-language fiction work by Jack London “White Fang” on the basis of direct translation into Russian and secondary translation into Kazakh. With the emergence of translations in Kazakh of English-language works, the need for their adequate translation increases. In any fiction work the most effective means of reflecting the author's artistic intent are stylistic means, in this connection it seems relevant to analyze possible variants of their translation in the conditions of linguocultural differences, which contribute to the realization of expressive and influencing functions of stylistic means. On the basis of the continuous sampling method, we have selected and analyzed stylistic means, among which the most common were metaphor and comparison. When transferring them into the target language, equivalent, literal, antonymic translations, holistic transformation, omission and addition techniques were used.

The results of the study reflected the differences in the linguistic, speech and cultural systems of the compared languages. The listed differences in the analyzed languages cause certain difficulties for the translator, as they imply the performance of tasks to perform high-quality, professional translation taking into account the peculiarities of the languages under study. The practical significance of the study lies in the fact that the materials and conclusions can be used in the courses of theory and practice of translation, stylistics of English, Russian and Kazakh languages, as well as for understanding the difficulties of transferring stylistic means from one language to another.
